I’m having a bad day
I didn’t get the check I was expecting today
And this Friday I didn’t get a band to play
My lumbar support fell out of my chair
I can’t even win a darn game of solitaire
I tripped over my cat
And on my bum I fell flat
The doorbell rang
The oven timer went off
My cell phone buzzed
And while trying to take care of all three
I knocked over my favorite potted tree

Oh I’m having a bad day
Now I’ve got dirt on the floor
I still haven’t answered the door
The cookies are burned
And I’ve got a call I have to return
I was late picking my son up from school
My bum still feels like I’ve been kicked by mule
My cat is still hiding from me
And I forgot I had a Doctors appoint at three.

Oh I’m having a really bad day
As I was getting ready for bed
I noticed a big wet spot in the middle of my bedspread
My cat paid me back in the best way he knew how
I have no clean sheets, and I can’t even find a towel.
On the bare mattress, I pray myself to sleep
And ask the lord my soul to keep
For if tomorrow is another bad day
It’s in my bed that’s where I’ll stay.
